End design.

Drawing Notes:

Our banjo is drawn for a right-handed musician, one who picks with their right hand. The four strings and the tuning pegs can be seen on the left side of the page.

Fun Facts:

The banjo was brought to America from Africa in the 1600s.

After the Civil War, the banjo became a popular instrument in Appalachian music. (Bluegrass and ragtime are two of my favorites.)

Today banjos are made from wood, but originally they were made from gourds.

A treble clef.

End design.

Fun Facts:

The jaw harp (which is played with the mouth) is not a harp at all!

Harpists use four fingers on each hand to make their beautiful music.

The walls of Egyptian tombs often have pictures of people playing the harp.

Today’s concert harps usually have forty-seven strings and seven pedals.

This banjo is drawng for a left-handed player. The player of this instrument wil pluck the notes and chords with the left hand and hold the string down with the right.

Fun Facts:

The body of the banjo is called a pot.

On the five-string banjo, the short string is called a drone or chanterelle.

Drawing Notes:

The guitar is resting on the floor with the neck pointing upwards. The tuning knobs for this six string guitar would point up and to the left along the slanted portion of the top of the neck.

Fun facts:

Most Stratocasters are made of alder wood, while the Stratocasters featured in the Deluxe range feature ash wood bodies, thus having a slightly different sound.

Rene’s Drawing Notes:

The guitar is pictured from the front and stands upright. It is very similar to a classical guitar or acoustic guitar. At the top it starts with the head, then comes the neck and finally the body. On the left and right sides of the head there are three pegs each (with which the strings are tuned). Our neck consists of four strings. These are symbolic of the actual six strings and the fretboard. In the case of the body, the strings continue over the sound hole and finally end at the bridge.

Rene’s Drawing Notes:

The guitar is pictured from the front and stands upright. It could be both an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar. At the top it starts with the head, then comes the neck and finally the body. On the left and right sides of the head, the individual points represent the pegs (with which the strings are tuned). The neck of the small guitar consists of two strings. These are symbolic of the actual six strings and the fretboard. In the case of the body, the strings run all the way to the bridge. The sound hole is not marked on the small guitar.
