Drawing Notes:
The Yak is looking straight at you. You see no facial features because you are looking into the available light. Starting at the top you encounter the two massive horns. Beneath the horns, the ears protrude before the face slims down to the chin.
Between the two massive horns, notice all the long hair sticking up across the top of his head. This long thick hair is also hanging from the bottoms of his ears and along both jaws.

Fun Facts:
Zebus are a breed of humped-back cattle that originated in India. They are known for their large humps on their backs, which contain fat deposits that help them survive times of drought.
The phenotypic traits of these domestic cattle include drooping ears, a pair of hollow horns, and loose skin also called dewlaps.
Zebu cattle are one of the oldest species of cattle known to mankind, believed to be around for over 6,000 years. The zebu was the first type of domesticated cattle to arise.

Drawing Notes:
The Zebu is facing right on the page. It is easy to recognize because it has a large hump on its shoulders, and a long flap of skin, known as a “dewlap,” on its chest. Many Zebus also have floppy, droopy ears. This Zebu has two horns rising out of top of its head.
Fun facts:
Zebus are relatively small animals compared to other cattle species. They can weigh between 331 and 440 pounds and reach 34 to 42 inches in height at the shoulder. Males are larger than females.
Zebu are highly athletic animals, capable of reaching sprinting speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. This superior speed allows the zebu to outrun predators and cover large distances quickly.
The body of a zebu is covered with short, dense fur that can be grey, white, red, brown, or black in color. Certain species have spotted fur.
