A two-year-old female Chihuahua named Pearl (USA; b. 1 September 2020) is now officially the world’s shortest dog living. Pearl measures 3.59 inches (9.14 cm) in height and 5.00 inches (12.7 cm) in length.

Fun facts:

The Scottish Terrier, also known as the Scottie, is a small breed of dog that originated in Scotland. They were bred to hunt foxes and badgers, and their tenacity earned them the nickname “the Diehard”

Scottish terriers are often described as a big dog in a little dog’s body. They are feisty, independent, and sometimes excitable. As adults, their behavior can become moody. Some Scotties take to only one person. Scotties can be aggressive with other pets and stubborn about training.

Fun Facts:

The dachshund may be smooth-haired, wire-haired, or long-haired, and comes in a variety of colors. Dachshunds are small, plucky, and curious dogs that originated in Germany to hunt badgers and other underground game. Even though they are only eight to nine inches tall (203 – 22.8 cm), they are not in the top ten smallest dogs.
