Drawing Notes:
Scotland is a country surrounded by water on three sides with England as the south-western border. The islands of Orkney and the Shetland Islands are to the north-east of the mainland and did not fit on this drawing. I have used the following markers:
Row 4 – the L identifies the Isle of Lewis;
Row 8 – the S identifies the Isle of Skye;
Row 13 – the M identifies the Isle of Mull;
Row 16 – the G identifies the city of Glasgow and the E identifies the city of Edinburgh;
Row 17 – the I identifies the isle of Islay.
Fun Facts:
Scotland has approximately 790 islands, some of which are uninhabited. I did not attempt to draw them all.
Scotland is home to the oldest tree in Europe, a twisted yew that is 3,000 years old.
Edinburgh was the first city in the world to have its own fire brigade, and it has more listed buildings than anywhere else in the world.
Glasgow used to be one of the largest cities in the world, and it was a major center of the Industrial Revolution.
Scotland’s own website says Scotland is best known for whiskey and golf.
