The 1929 ford pickup is driving up the page. Rotate the drawing 90 degrees counterclockwise to set it on its wheels. This version has the outlined hood and four vents in the fender.
Fun Facts:
The 1929 Ford Model A pickup was a durable, 40-horsepower workhorse that cost roughly four hundred and fifty dollars–$8,741 in today’s money.
The sun visor is still on the outside of the windshield, and that did not change until 1932.
With a top speed of about sixty-five miles per hour, it was faster than the model T.
This sturdy truck was popular with farmers because it could haul heavy loads.

Drawing Notes:
The truck is facing left on the page. This is a heavy hauler style dump truck. Starting on the left, first you feel the heavy duty bumper. As you trace upward, the headlight sticks out slightly near the hood. As you get past the cab area, notice the exhaust pipe is a full cell from the bottom to the top where it curves to point backwards. This large engine needs a large exhaust pipe. The bed of the truck has lots of ribs along the sides to give it strength. Notice the extra full tank hanging between the wheels. This truck can run all day without a fuel stop.

The Long Haul truck is facing upwards. Turn the page counter-clockwise to put him on his wheels. Our truck has the heavy duty bumper and light in front. Notice that above the windshield is a visor with a light to provide extra shade in the day and a marker light at night. Behind the cab is an additional rectangle area that represents the sleeper cab for those cross country deliveries. Also note that the exhaust pipe is no longer directly fastened to the cab for safety concerns. Since all but the steering wheels are dual sets, this is a true 18 wheeler truck.

Drawing Notes:
The truck is facing left on the page. This is a short tractor trailer style truck as the box of the trailer is above the rear wheel of the tractor. Starting from the left on row 3, first is the engine compartment hood, then the windshield rises up to form the cab were the driver sits. The exhaust pipe is extending above the cab and is on the side of the truck we do not see. The trailer is a simple box with the doors at the rear.
